Privacy Policy
At a glance: the only personal data ZealVector asks for is your email address, and only if you subscribe to the weekly digest. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we currently load no third-party analytics or marketing scripts. Email support@zealvector.com any time to unsubscribe or have your data deleted.
1. What we collect
- Email address — if you subscribe to the weekly digest. We store the address, its confirmation status, and the signup time.
- Abuse-prevention counters — subscription requests are rate-limited per IP address. We store a one-way hash of the IP for this counter, not the address itself.
- Standard hosting logs — the site is served by Firebase Hosting (Google), which keeps ordinary technical request logs, as most web hosts do.
That's the full list. Reading the site requires no account and no personal information.
2. How subscription works
The newsletter uses double opt-in. When you enter your email, we store it with a "pending" status and send one verification email. Only after you click the confirmation link does the address become active and start receiving the weekly digest. Unconfirmed addresses are never sent the digest.
3. How we use your data
- To send you the weekly AI news digest you asked for.
- To answer messages you send to support@zealvector.com.
- To keep the subscription forms safe from bots and abuse.
We do not sell or rent your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything beyond running ZealVector.
4. Where your data lives
Subscriber data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore as part of the site's Firebase project, and emails are delivered through Firebase's email infrastructure. Google acts as our infrastructure provider and processes this data on our behalf.
5. Bot protection
Subscription form submissions are protected by Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA v3, which helps distinguish people from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA is a Google service and evaluates signals from your browser as part of that check; see Google's privacy policy for how Google handles that data.
6. Cookies and local storage
Your cookie choices from the consent banner are saved in your browser's local storage
(under the key zv-cookie-prefs) so we don't have to ask again. By default
only strictly necessary functionality runs. The banner offers Analytics and Marketing
categories for potential future use, but at present ZealVector loads no third-party
analytics or marketing scripts regardless of your selection.
7. Your choices
- Unsubscribe: email support@zealvector.com and we'll remove your address from the digest.
- Delete your data: the same email address handles deletion requests — we'll remove your subscriber record entirely.
- Ignore the confirmation email: if you never confirm, your address stays inactive and receives nothing further.
- Cookie preferences: change them any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
8. Retention
We keep subscriber records while your subscription is active. When you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, the record is removed. Rate-limit counters are short-lived operational data.
9. Children
ZealVector is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we'll delete the record.
10. Changes to this policy
If our data practices change — for example, if analytics are ever enabled — we'll update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
